Job Title: Physical Therapist

Job Summary
MACPT is seeking a motivated and skilled Physical Therapist (PT) to join our outpatient team. The ideal candidate will treat patients with orthopedic and sports-related injuries, providing evidence-based care to restore function, reduce pain, prevent injury, and optimize performance. This role involves performing evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, delivering treatments, and guiding patients through recovery and return to daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Perform initial patient evaluations and develop individualized plans of care.
  •  Conduct regular reassessments and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  •  Deliver high-quality, evidence-based daily treatments. 
  •  Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely and accurate manner. 
  •  Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals regarding patient progress and care plans. 
  •  Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, modalities, and home exercise programs. 
  •  Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. 
  •  Supervise Physical Therapy Aides in patient care activities.
  •  Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment.
  •  Respond appropriately to urgent or emergent situations following clinic protocols. 
  •  Attend team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment. 
  •  Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  •  Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
  •  Active Virginia Physical Therapist license (or eligibility). 
  •  Current CPR certification. 
  •  Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred (new graduates may be considered). 
  •  Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding. 
  •  Familiarity with Virginia regulations regarding direct access and dry needling. 
  •  Understanding of the Physical Therapy Code of Ethics. 
  •  Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:
  •  Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and sit for extended periods.
  •  Frequent lifting, assisting, and transferring of patients (up to 30 lbs unassisted). 
  •  Sufficient manual dexterity to perform therapeutic interventions. 
  •  Visual and auditory acuity to assess and treat patients effectively.
  •  Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to bodily fluids and communicable conditions.
 
Additional Requirements:
  •  Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
